Transfer to Springfield Fostering
If you are thinking about transferring from your current fostering agency or local authority, we would be very happy to speak with you. Foster carers choose to move for many different reasons, and we recognise that this can feel like a significant decision. Although change can be daunting, we are here to discuss your options and support you in making the choice that feels right for you.
How It works?
We’re here to stand with you and guide you through your next step.
As a self-employed foster carer, you have the right to change agencies and work with whoever you feel is the best fit for you. The Fostering Network has designed a ‘transfer protocol’, which all agencies now work with when a foster carer wants to transfer agencies.
As part of the ‘transfer protocol’ it is made clear that any children already placed with you will not be disrupted in any way if transferring agencies.
Step 01 – Speak to us
We will share more information about who we are and how we work, and you can then decide whether you would like to continue. The choice is entirely yours.
Step 02 – Decide
If you feel that transferring is the right step for you, you will need to inform your current agency that you are considering a move (but do not resign at this stage). Once you have updated them, we will then get in touch with them directly.
Step 03 – Protocol meeting
Next will be the ‘protocol transfer’ meeting, this will include: you, Soundly fostering, your current agency and any placing local authorities. Here we will agree the terms of the transfer.
Step 04 – Re-assessment
We will then be in touch to begin your re-assessment and arrange a suitable date for your panel.
Step 05 – Our panel
Once your assessment and required checks have been finalised, your application will be taken to panel for their consideration. The panel will provide a recommendation, and the agency’s Decision Maker will confirm the final outcome within 48 hours of the panel meeting.
Step 06 – Transfer complete
We will then confirm that your transfer has been completed and notify the relevant people.
Send us a message to begin
Do not worry. We will guide you through each stage of the process and will always be available to discuss any questions or concerns you may have.
